Little Gryphons nursery are delighted after once again receiving a ‘Good’ rating from Ofsted, following an inspection at the end of January. Staff have been praised for planning “challenging activities and outings that motivate children to learn” and for providing “good support to help all children understand their feelings and develop positive relationships”.
The good relationships between staff and children were very much highlighted in the report with Ofsted saying staff “know the children well and use their interests to motivate their learning” as well as using “puppets, music and stories to encourage babies’ language skills and build on what they know”. Ofsted also said that outcomes for children are good, commenting “children develop a positive attitude to learning and gain good skills that prepare them well for their next stage of learning and school”.
Nursery Manager, Sally-Ann Prout said “At Little Gryphons we strive for excellence across all areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage, so that when the children leave nursery they are well prepared for school. We are proud of our inclusivity and the warm, happy and safe environment we provide for the children, with a focus on learning through play”.
Nicki Edwards, Headteacher of the Gryphon School which runs the nursery said “I am extremely proud of all the staff at Little Gryphons – they continually strive for excellence and demonstrate exceptional teamwork, which has been reflected in this report”.
